After months of hearing uninformed Republicans deride Sen. Barack Obama as a socialist for reasons that have never been clear to me, imagine my surprise to learn that the stock market went up like a rocket Monday after the Bush administration agreed to buy a stake in some of the nation's banks.
So Wall Street, that bastion of American capitalism, likes socialism now?
Is that kind of like the old canard that there are no atheists in fox holes?
