Former Michigan Gov. John Engler recently came up with the bright idea of using extra space in Michigan prisons to house detainees from Guantanamo who can't be released or relocated.
But that was then.
Now, national Republicans are backing legislation to bar Guantanamo detainees from being housed on the U.S. mainland.
So they were for it before they were against it?

So, you are saying that every Republican in the nation has to have exactly the same view on every topic?
Is that the way the Democrats work?
By the way, just who is Arlen Specter supporting these days in the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota?
There is no Senate race in Minnesota. Al Franken has won, and Coleman is just delaying it with appeals to keep the Democrats from having a filibuster proof majority in the Senate for as long as possible. I’m not really sure what that has to do with a leading Republican talking the exact opposite position the RNC is spending millions to get out, but you have a problem staying on topic, brett.
As long as you allow guru to make silly remarks and to falsely call me Brett, then I will feel compelled to note that there is some surprising information that he might not want you to see on the sex offenders list on the Michigan State Police web site.
I just wonder if Engler got Boss Limbaugh's permission before he gave his opinion.
That's a fair question, Judy. It seems as though many Republicans do quake in fear of running afoul of Rush. That's sad.
This must be a new GOP smear tactic brett is using. Go ahead and produce this “surprising information” that does not and cannot exist, please.
