So How Do They REALLY Feel About Palin?

The last two weeks we've seen plenty of political consultants show up on television and gush about whatever is going on at the convention. More than once, you've probably wondered if they really believed what they were saying.

Thanks to the marvel of open mics, we now know how two Republican consultants -- Mike Murphy and Peggy Noonan -- really feel about John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate.

They think it was B.S.

Watch it below:

Murphy, of course, is the political consultant who engineered John Engler's gubernatorial victories in Michigan.

I wonder how Michigan residents felt watching Palin's speech, especially the part about Alaska having a budget surplus and rebating oil and gas profits back to Alaska taxpayers.

Where does she think that money came from? Right out of the hides of Michigan workers, of course. While Michigan motorists struggle to pay for $4 gas, Alaska residents are rolling in dough and bragging about how easy it is to balance the state budget. She wants to drill in the fragile Alaska National Wildife Refuge, which even John McCain opposes, even though it would bring down the price of gas at most a few pennies. Alaska, of course, would rake in even more money as the nation continued to be hooked on a dwindling resource that will only become increasingly expensive.

Later in the speech, Palin made an appeal to Michigan workers struggling to keep their jobs. How does keeping the economy tied to a 20th century energy source help Michigan autoworkers keep their jobs? It doesn't. It only makes oil companies -- and Alaska -- richer at the expense of the rest of us and delays the day when we switch to alternatives.

I agree.

Attacking your opponent's polices and record are one thing and are fair game, but her personal attack on Sens. Obama and Biden were disgusting. She's very good at reading a speech someone else wrote; after all, that was her brief career in TV "news." I cannot wait for the debate between her and Joe Biden.

I was worried that after Biden kicked her butt, he would be accused of being a bully, but after her disgusting personal attacks last night, that goes out the window and the gloves should be off.

The liberals finally found someone they hate worse than George Bush!! I think I smell fear in the air!! McCain/Palin will end up with more than 300 EC votes, including Michigan's 17. Sucks to be a Dem!! Obama can't match up with McCain or Palin... Obama has no accomplishments and is a light weight! His lead is gone after this week for good!!

Gulag... that makes two of us that can't wait for the debates! Sarah is going to tear the "hair plug" apart! I can't stop laughing about that "read a speech" comment. Have you ever watched Nobama without a teleprompter?? Good luck with that argument! You are as much of a blowhard loser as the two guys on your ticket!

I have never been more proud to be a Democrat and an American right now, and am so glad I am a Democrat instead of a morally bankrupt Republicon. I guess when you make stupid comments like you just did it's best to do it annonymousely. I don't hate someone I don't even know. As for George Bush, I hate what he has done to this county. We are still going to win, we just have more work to do now debunking the many lies she told.

There is no way a person who was the mayor of a small town and a governor of one of the smallest state in the union in office less than two years is going to beat Joe Biden, no matter how well she reads the news on camera. Yes, I have seen Obama talk off the cuff, and he is fine. See, Sen. Obama writes the speeches he inspires people with.

Judy, Kevin - you and the Democrats are priceless. This is hilarious - you're so scared of Sarah Palin that you're breaking out in cold sweats.

If you're NOT scared of Sarah Palin, you're sure devoting an awful lot of space and energy trashing her, aren't you? Ha ha ha. This is beyond great.

Think about it - how much time did the Republicans spend going after Joe Biden? Huh? The answer is almost none. Why? Because he doesn't scare us, that's why. He was rejected by the Democrats when he ran for president a zillion times, and he'll be rejected by America.

That's the bottom line here: You're scared to death of Sarah Palin, and you know it.

We're not scared of Joe Biden.

You lose. And this is hilarious to watch.

I don't understand. Somehow, Democrats are somehow scared of Palin simply because we will not let the lies you tell about her go unchecked. Sorry, it's not going to happen, and when you try stupid lies like, she has foreign experience because Alaska is close to Russia or Alaska is the largest state in the union expect us to point out the lies and misrepresentations.

I am scared, I freely admit it. We already saw what happened to our country when an unqualified, inexperienced and incompetence person was elected to the presidency. He won the election in 2000 by a vote of 4-3 under shady circumstances, and despite running the country into the ground, squandering a budget surplus to a record deficit and lying us into an unnecessary and illegal invasion he was still reelected. So the point is anything can happen. Could you imagine what would happen to this country after another 4 years of Bush, and at age 72 Grampy McSame's health is not the best. Could you imagine if we got stuck with someone as unqualified, vindictive, ethically challenged and radical as Palin as the president?

Yes, I am scared, scared for the country I love.

In my opinion Judy is correct in her analysis.

But to me the bigger issue is this belief that we are all seperate. By having 2 parties that are basically the extreme end of each other Americans have polorized themselves. I truly belive that in the end this will destroy us.

The world is not lived in white or black but in tones of gray and the sooner we come together not as an "Republican" or "Democrat" the closer we will be in dealing with the issues that affect America.

I thought that Barack Obama was running against John McCain not Sarah Palin. What am I missing here?

Where do McBush and McBushalin stand on the issues? All I hear is their constant bashing and bragging about being a some kind of tag team of mavericks, while belittling their opponents. McCain is old and God help us if Moose Hunter is left to handle this mess. She didn't even know what the Bush Doctrine was and bases her foreign policy experience on the fact her state BORDERS Russia?! With that analogy, we must all be geniuses at Canadian foreign policy here in Michigan.

Note to conservatives: Your party has been running the show for 8 years and its been a huge disaster. The McNut team is just more of the same and that is what is scary.
